The BC Green Party is pleased to announce Samantha Agtarap as their candidate for Port Moody-Burquitlam in the 2024 election. As a professional engineer with significant expertise in energy and environmental sustainability, Samantha exemplifies the party’s dedication to evidence-based policy, social equity, and environmental leadership.

Samantha brings nearly two decades of experience in engineering and climate action, making her a powerful advocate for sustainable development. Her background includes working with Indigenous communities, governments, and the private sector to develop and implement effective climate action plans and policies. Currently, Samantha chairs the Climate Action and Economic Development and Tourism Committees on Port Moody City Council. 

A strong proponent of social justice, Samantha believes in the need for robust climate action and equitable economic policies. She supports the protection of old-growth forests, the implementation of Universal Basic Income, and ensuring that large corporations, especially those receiving government subsidies like the oil and gas industry, contribute their fair share of taxes. Samantha is committed to phasing out harmful subsidies and transitioning toward a green, sustainable economy.
