Archie Kaario

West Vancouver-Capilano

Archie Kaario, a passionate advocate for environmental sustainability and social justice, is running as a Green Party candidate in West Vancouver-Capilano. Born and raised in the Lower Mainland, Archie has a deep understanding of the community’s needs, shaped by decades of professional and personal experience. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Simon Fraser University, where he first developed his dedication to environmental issues, and later earned his law degree from the University of British Columbia.

With a legal career spanning over 40 years, Archie has focused on Family and Criminal Law, witnessing firsthand how government policies impact individuals and families on a daily basis. His extensive background also includes advocacy for environmental causes, influenced by his early experiences in the commercial fishing industry and involvement with the Solar Energy Society of Canada. Archie’s deep commitment to protecting British Columbia’s natural resources stems from his family’s long history in the fishing industry, where he observed the declining health of local salmon stocks.

In 2021, Archie ran for federal office with the Green Party, further cementing his dedication to addressing critical issues like climate change, ecological preservation, and social equity. As a semi-retired lawyer and longtime community member, Archie is committed to bringing his legal expertise and environmental advocacy to the legislative table. He seeks to create a greener, more sustainable future for West Vancouver-Capilano, and his candidacy reflects his lifelong commitment to the well-being of both the environment and his community.
