VICTORIA, B.C. – The BC Green Party remains committed to upholding the integrity of our democratic processes. We are aware of allegations regarding voting irregularities in the Surrey-Guildford riding and that a former candidate has provided an affidavit regarding their experience during the campaign.
British Columbia has clear laws and procedures for investigating and resolving concerns about election integrity. We trust in these processes and in the role of the courts to determine whether further action is warranted. At this time, we will refrain from drawing conclusions until all evidence has been thoroughly examined.
Protecting democracy is extremely important to the BC Green Party. We encourage transparency and due process, and we will continue to support a fair and evidence-based approach to resolving these concerns.
